 On
Thursday 17th February, a compilation CD featuring some of Pembrokeshire’s
finest acoustic musicians will be launched to raise more funds for the
Asian Tsunami
Crisis.
The CD has been produced by the SHIRE Initiative whose aim is to facilitate
community and Shire based projects, ensuring the project is carried out
by local people.
SHIRE Initiative founder Peter Anderson said, “This
project has been a great example of what local people can do with just
a little coordination,
encouragement and support. The response and generosity has been fabulous
and to work with such quality musicians is very inspiring.”
The CD features local musicians such as Nagus
(Mike & Tom Chant),
Guy Maile, Lowri Evans to name but a few and all the tracks are original
compositions. They have been recorded live by Jens Schroeder at Dreamworld
Studios, near Letterston. “We were all truly amazed at the standard
of musicianship and the positive spirit which everyone possessed. Almost
all the tracks on the CD are a ‘first take’ which is quite
unusual.”

The CD will also be on sales through various retail outlets, still to
be announced. All funds will be sent to S.T.A.R.T.
 Some of these musicians will be featuring live along
with a host of other local bands, at an 999 capacity concert on 5th March
to be held
at Folly Farm. This will be a ticket only event and the Hot Line for

Once this CD is complete, the SHIRE Initiative
aims to create a ‘County
Compilation’ for each Shire throughout the UK. Each CD will be
designated to fund raising activities relevant at the time of production.
