Peter Davies; Peter (Chair to Prince of Wales’ Charities, Associate Director of BITC & Vice Chair to Sustainable Development Commission) with his emphasis on sustainability and community regeneration.

“I’m looking forward to seeing social & community groups harness the potential of the latest internet technologies in the same way that the corporate sector has, as I believe it will have a great effect on social engagement.”

Ben Freeman; finance director of PRUPIM Ltd (Prudential) (2000 -2006)

”There is no doubt about the potential of this project to make a huge and real difference, which makes this a very exciting project. It feels as though we are now reaching that exciting but crucial stage of turning this idea into something that will change lives. Whilst there will still be a huge ongoing role for practical project management and operational management, this provides us with a real opportunity to apply our networks and enthusiasm to be part of the story of making this idea a success”

Julia Ritchie MBE; Julia brings us a strong emphasis on strategic health care.

“With the emphasis on  people self managing chronic illnesses from their own homes, LocalEyes could be a valuable tool to facilitate connecting people to their local resources, support networks & the broader health community”

Andy Middleton; Andy runs TYF Adventure and is an active environmentalist working with the Welsh Assembly Government and large corporations and is leading a project that aims to see St David’s as a carbon neutral city.

John McGeechan, Technical Development
John has been in IT for about twenty years, starting in the age of mainframes. John worked for IBM as a developer and stayed in the mainframe world for about 10 years working for bluechips such as Safeway, Sainsburys, London Electric and Cable and Wireless, mainly as a freelance developer/analyst. He joined the Guardian Media group in 2000 and spent the next 5 years as part of a team that grew the ‘Guardian Unlimited’ site into one of the most influential and award winning news sites in the world (second only to the BBC, in the UK, in terms of audience). In his time there he gathered much experience in developing user facing systems on many different platforms including mobile, web TV and WAP. He acquired crucial experience in growing a web community and in-depth knowledge on how to deliver revenue generating ad campaigns in many formats and on different platforms. In February of 2007 John decided to move his career away from the corporate world and instead focus more on working for community based groups and volunteer organizations. He is currently involved with the Home Start charity and the transition town movements (which is where he met Peter Anderson). John’s philosophy on IT is that it much more complex than it needs to be and if he has one goal in IT, it is to demystify it and to use it to empower all sections of our society.
